Making of the 2010 demo F-16

Stage 7 - Johan Wolfs

April 8, 2010 - When the new display aircraft - #FA-110 - was pulled in the paintshop at Kleine Brogel AB, everyone was eager for information on how the new bird was going to look like. A lot of speculations arose specifically about the usage of a 'color' on this years demo jet.

We want to thank Johan Wolfs and Peter Verheyen for their stunning design - once again. Besides this, a word of appreciation for all the people working in the paintshop at Kleine Brogel AB for their hospitality in making this project a reality.

New display aircraft in the paint shop

Paint shopMarch 10, 2010 - The new display aircraft was pulled in the paintshop at Kleine Brogel AB. Since last years demo F-16 - #FA-134 - needed to return to SABCA to receive a MLU related upgrade package, a new airframe - #FA-110 - was selected to replace it.

The selected F-16 will be decoated and prepared to receive the new demo color scheme. Since last years scheme wasn't retained, everyone can look forward to see a newly designed scheme to fly in the airshows across Europe in the coming demo season.

Roll-out of the new display aircraft

Roll-outMay 25, 2009 - Today, F-16 #FA-134 rolled out of the paint barn. Again - as in the past - the design team did a magnificent job to give the aircraft a stunning stencilling. New tones of the well-known grey are used. The stencilling is a combination of fluent lines over the aircraft's skin together with a stylised 'M' which can be seen both on top as from below as well as from a full profile view. This 'M' refers to 'Mitch' as demo pilot of this years solo display team.

Solo display aircraft disappears in hanger

April 29, 2009 - The new solo display aircraft is towed into the hangar today at Kleine Brogel airbase to be prepared for the new season. The aircraft will be decoated and prepared to receive it's new color scheme. The process of doing this will take almost a month.
