July 18, 2010 - Fairford, Royal International Air Tattoo, Royal Air Force..... These are sounding words that ring a bell in every aero enthusiasts ears. By far the largest air show in Europe (and beyond). There's always some new equipment to be seen. Not a different story this year.
For the team it is a highlight of the 2010 season. But also the last airshow of the first half of the 2010 season. After this, the team will be getting a three week leave to pump up those batteries again for the second stage of their display tour.

July 10, 2010 - For once this season we could stay on the same side of the English Channel two weekends on a row. After a splendid Waddington performance, Yeovilton was the team's next stop in the 2010 display tour. Yeovilton is an air station of the Royal Navy. So a lot of their assets where present at the show. Always nice to see a harrier perform.
Special display on this show was the Vulcan bomber. Always a magnificent sight to see this relict of the Cold War come in for landing once more.

July 4, 2010 - Waddington here we come! Again from mainland Europe to the United Kingdom. Waddington traditionally is one of the bigger airshows in Europe. No exception this year. Weather turned out to be good for English standards. Much better then in the homeland anyway.
The Embraer took the team to Waddington in less then an hour. They had to wait for Mitch until the next day, since he had to perform at Beauvechain AB the same day.

Beauvechain airshow report |

July 3, 2010 - Here it is again. The first weekend of July, bringing us back home. One of the nice - but also a little strange - things of being a member of 'small' air force is that the number of displays abroad far exceeds the number of displays at home. This year that number will halt at two. And here's the first one. This year the hosts are the 1st Wing at Beauvechain/Bevekom AB. At this moment a training facility of the Belgian Air Force, but in a former life one could well call it 'fightertown Belgium'.
The theme for this year was the Belgian presidency of the European Council with some attention going to European related activities.

June 27, 2010 - Crossing the English Channel seems to be getting a habit. Certainly on the same day. We are getting to look like the Eurostar train. Anyway, the stop-over at Cambrai AB brought us a little bit closer to home. The Cambrai airshow is also one of those classics with a huge crowd and a lot of aircraft and displays to be seen over the weekend.
The weather over northern France was again perfect. This was also the case for Mitch's demo. Flawless once more.
