Cambrai airshow report

Cambrai airshow June 27, 2010 - Crossing the English Channel seems to be getting a habit. Certainly on the same day. We are getting to look like the Eurostar train. Anyway, the stop-over at Cambrai AB brought us a little bit closer to home. The Cambrai airshow is also one of those classics with a huge crowd and a lot of aircraft and displays to be seen over the weekend.

The weather over northern France was again perfect. This was also the case for Mitch's demo. Flawless once more.

The airshow in Cambrai was a success this year. Can't remember ever being something else for that matter. The team enjoyed the weekend and so did Mitch. Off course, the ride from Kleine Brogel AB didn't take very long since Cambrai is just south of the Belgian-French border. One of the advantages of such a short distance is that a lot of Belgian aircraft enthusiasts also make the trip down south with us. So we had the distinct pleasure of meeting a lot of countryman in Cambrai. But then again, the French fans were fabulous as well.

A lot of teams were present. Both solo displays (as the Dutch F-16, Swiss F/A-18, Slovakian Mig-29 and so on) as multi-aircraft teams (Patrouille de France, Red Arrows, Turkish Stars and so on). We had a very good time with the Spanish patrouille and also with the Danish F-16 solo display team. Since they will be performing at our own Beauvechain airshow next weekend, this came in very handy to get acquainted.

The team specifically wants to thank the BaseCO for providing us a fantastic spot for our PR-tent. It made our sales a lot easier.

The season has started very well for the team, both display as weather wise. We are hoping to have the same bright weather at the Belgian airshow held at Beauvechain/Bevekom AB next weekend. See you all there!!

And hoping to see you at Cambrai next year as well.....
