Malta airshow report

Malta airshow

September 25, 2010 - The last stop-over in Malta of a Belgian F-16 Solo Display Team was......... very much indeed, way too long ago. Although at the end of September, the weather was simply fantastic. A slight southerly breeze and a very nice 28°C got everyone in a good mood. The team joined up with the Dutch team one more time for a great airshow weekend on the tiny island in the Mediterranean.

The demoteam finally went to Malta for the annual airshow weekend. It was already about 6 years since a Belgian F-16 team set foot on the island of Malta! For a part of the team it already was the last airshow of the season, with Sandro, Peter, Wim and Patrick being on the crew. Instead of the smaller Embraer this trip was made with the large KDC-10 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

The entire trip the KDC-10 was escorted by Mitch and the spare aircraft, together with the Dutch demoteam as well.

Arriving in Malta everything went for the better. A nice breeze and 28°C. This at the end of September. Simply fantastic. On both days our booth was attended by a lot of people. Thank you to all our visitors for finding our place and coming for a talk of buying some of our gadgets. Money well spent if you ask us. Also a great thanks to MCM which allowed us to put our tent within their hangar at the airfield.

Mitch performed perfectly on both days. The crowd could obviously appreciate the effort. But then again, who could complain with such a great weather.

We want to thank the entire organisation of the show and hoping to see you all next year.
