Duxford airshow report

Duxford airshow October 11, 2009 - The very last airshow of the 2009 season. Duxford is always a pleasant show to attend. This year is no exception to that. For being October, the weather was quite nice. Which can be a whole different story in some years.

The team went to visit the Duxford museam, which has some nice exhibits as a SR-71 'Blackbird', etc. The team also enjoyed the transports from RAF Mildenhall, where all display aircraft are based.

Sanicole airshow

Sanicole airshow September 20, 2009 - The last airshow of the season on Belgium soil is a classic as well. Sanicole airshow was organised for the 32nd consecutive time. A crowd of over 35,000 people gathered to view some interesting international aircraft and display teams on the small grass field in Hechtel, Belgium. Since the Tigermeet was still going on from nearby Kleine Brogel AB, a lot of these aircraft attended Sanicole as well. This combined with some international aircraft like the B-17 'Sally and 'Vulcan' bomber made for a nice show.

It was in this company that Mitch displayed flawlessly with a nice evening gathering to close off. Hope to see you all next year for the 2010 edition. More info check out: http://www.sanicole.com.

Tigermeet airshow report

Tigermeet airshow September 16/18, 2009 - A major event in Belgium was the organisation of NATO's Tigermeet. Established back in 1961, Kleine Brogel based 31 squadron hosted the event 6 times earlier (1963, 1970, 1978, 1985, 1993, 2001). Still, the concept of this year's exercise was completely different. Instead of only one week, this event was spread out over a full two weeks with a total of eight flying days.

On two days, a public event was organised. September 16th saw a large local crowd gathered in some cloudy weather. Two days later, a full size airshow/spottersday was organised during the COMAO.

Leuchars airshow

Leuchars airshow September 12, 2009 - As last one in the British mini-tour was Leuchars. As said before, British airshows are always something special. Lot of (beautiful) folks around. Lots of animation. Some nerves about the weather. This time, everything came together quite smoothly. There were lots of folks, lots of animation and the weather came at it's best. Sunny with a nice breeze. What could we ask for?

Mitch performed as always, keeping spirits hi.

Jersey airshow report

Jersey airshow September 10, 2009 -After Hradec Kralové in the Czech Republic, the team started on a little British tour. First to come was Jersey, together with Guernsey. Leuchars was to follow a couple of days later. British airshows are always something special. Lot of (beautiful) folks around. Lots of animation. Some nerves about the weather and then you have it. All ingredients for a typical British airshow.
