Radom airshow report

August 29-30, 2009 - The airshow on the Polish Air Force base of Radom started with low clouds and a lot of rain. It prevented Mitch from flying his display on Saturday because weather conditions were just too appalling for him to fly a safe display. Weather conditions improved considerably on Sunday and everything was set to fly the display as tragedy struck. The Belorussian Su-27UB crashed during its display, unfortunately killing both pilots on board. As a consequence the entire airshow was canceled and no more displays were flown, including the one from Mitch.

The team likes to extend its most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of both pilots.

On the second day Mitch experienced some electrical problems during his demo which made him return to base immediately. Despite this little hick-up, the weekend was a nice temporary closing before the team hits the second leg of the season in late August starting at Rygge in Norway.
